Letters from the garden
Dear readers, Happy February to all, well the snowdrops are out I’ve see a few early Daffs, and lots of crocus, I’m now getting impatient for the rest and I know we have a while to go yet. I am making a nuisance of myself at the local nurseries and Garden Centres for Herbs already, I have jobs to do and plants to plant for people, even us Gardeners forget that Mother Nature will tell us when even with human encouragement! Never mind, I will have to wait and continue with all the other jobs of preparing the soil and all the lovely Shrubs that can be planted instead. It’s Camellia season, and they will look pretty good as long as the frost doesn’t catch them out. Exchordia is one of my favourites and it’s starting to appear more and more such a beautiful plant especially ‘The Bride’ stunning white flowers, and can be planted in all aspects and most soils, a gem of the shrub world. Don’t forget to add it to your garden palette. In the world of Mow ‘n’ Blow things do change, I have today been pressure washing moss off a driveway, I then moved onto shopping for plants, at the same time making sure social media is updated with the latest photos of the Landscaping team, then it’s onto preparing my upcoming talk on ‘Gardens for Change’ then meeting the team at the end of the day and writing this, I think next it’s planning the new office at Wyevale’s Rake – watch this space – and then organising the Garden Teams schedule for March, as well as visiting our lovely clients, and breath! If you need anything done in the garden, or just advice we are available to help with both, and if it’s just a clearance or tidy it’s part of the ever-growing list of a Gardener’s duties. Take care and don’t forget to enjoy the garden. Lynn Dupont Sales@mow-n-blow.co.uk
