Letters from the garden
I am loving the weather, we have got some dodgy tan lines on the arms, but I don’t care! This warmth has brought everything on so quickly the phone is off the hook, and we’re loving it.
Myself and Christian visited the Ascot spring show on Saturday the 14thwhich was a lovely day, the nurseries were great and I loved the copper work in the ‘On Point’ garden, so that’s where our vote went. I hope they do it again it’s was a fun few hours.
My tulips have sprung open in the last couple of days because of the heat, my seedlings are loving it, it’s just me lagging behind on the garden, so I can plant them out, never mind I’ll try and catch up this weekend while the guys are fishing, and Tinca and I can relax!! Never with a Jack Russell!!!!
The teams have been coming back saying how beautiful all the trees are now, Prunus, Pyrus, and Magnolia’s, too which we all agree are stunning and glad not to be frosted. All the bulbs are nearly finishing which is mad, but that’s the climate these days, we have been cutting like demons this week, all we needed was some warm weather to dry out the lawns and we can run efficiently.
So this week, it’s been cutting, weeding, pressure washing, Yurt fixing, planting and much more and I think a Gin & Tonic is well deserved whether at home or at The Greyfriar, I might see you there.
Enjoy the garden and make the most of the weather, and enjoy whatever your tipple is at sunset……
If you do need help in the garden let us know, we will be here J
