Frost and Cosmos.....

Letters from the garden
Dear Readers,
We’ve had our first frost and I was not expecting that, temperatures dropped lower than expected but still good during the day, I am reluctant to put the heating on but it’s going to have to happen. Blankets are out on the sofa and Tinca our Jack Russel is under the covers too.
The garden is still looking good, the Cosmos is still flowering wonderfully, and the grasses are fantastic as it is there time to shine and they are definitely doing that. My Aquilegia’s have gone mad really filled out ready for next year hoping to get lots of flowers, I still haven’t planted my new bulbs, the weather might be on my side at the weekend so I will get out there and then I can separate all my strawberries too, I will do some more seed shopping for the beds and borders, I have to remove a few plant and divide, I think the Lavatera has just become too much of a thug, but these grow quite quickly so I will get another one and place it in a better position in the garden, the trunk is huge so I don’t think I’ll remove it successfully (sometimes it’s not going to happen).
Time to check the lavenders, don’t forget that these only last a few years and do need replacing, so if they look like they have given you their best pull them out and you can either replant now, or in spring.
If you need some help with planting or general garden help please get in contact. We can cover most jobs including winter jobs of leaf blowing and pressure washing.
We also have Gift cards to purchase for Garden services to Designs and general consultancy for those loved ones that would love a gift for the garden.
If you need anything, please give us a call.
