Letters from the garden
Dear Readers, It’s Hampton Court Flower Show and the Sun is shining; I feel for the gardens and displays trying to keep everything watered and kept alive, but I’m sure they will do as much as possible. If you have visited or are visiting enjoy, I will be watching from the sofa in the evening as we are so busy there Is no opportunity for us to go this year, never-mind I can’t complain I got to do Chatsworth at least. I am trying to keep up with my garden, it’s gone mad on the weed front but it has filled out beautifully and my pots are looking great, the lavender is stunning, and my cut flower experiment is going well at the moment still some varieties to come out but the Cerinthe and the Cornflowers are looking good, so with the Alchemilla Mollis and Linaria my vases are looking good this year, I just need to add some roses which I haven’t for some reason done yet, for scent I have fallen in love with Chandos Beauty, I also love St Swithuns’ and I will try a scented orange one if I can find it. Anyway as it’s so hot the lawns are eventually slowing down it’s taken a while, so we can concentrate on the beds and borders and other work that can be done pressure washing is good in this weather, tidying up areas ready for summer parties, and collect fruit that this now ripe, my gooseberries are ready and I’ve managed to keep the birds at bay, but I ate all the strawberries while in the garden so there’s none for anyone else. Enjoiy the weather and make sure your garden furniture is ready to be used. If you need any help please give us a call and don’t forget we consulting too, if advice is needed.
