Letters from the garden
Dear Readers, We’ve had rain and the lawns are getting back to the green we are used to. My lawn is just out of control and wow we are going to be doing some lawn treatments over the next 12 months, the weeds that have taken over the lawns because of the drought are quite amazing. Over the next month keep an eye on the lawns and if you require selective weedkillers and/or feeds let us know. You do not need to overfeed your lawns, it actually does more damage. If you need advice on lawns Christian is the man to call. Because of the weather things are moving quicker than normal, we have already cut wildflower areas as they are finished already, other herbaceous are finishing early and beds and borders will need a good dig over soon. With the Bank Holiday enjoy the garden if you are in it, keep deadheading to prolong the last of the flowers. Now we have had some rain i would suggest maybe a little food for beds and pots so it will soak in properly and not scorch plants. We are hoping it will be nice weather to continue eating outside, are you picking your raspberries, i have missed the Elderberries simply because they ripened earlier than i was prepared for, but never mind i will have to find something else to preserve. Good luck collecting fruit and veg don’t let anything spoil, too much veg can be made into soups and chutneys so have fun. Hedges are in need of a cut so don’t forget to call in advance so we can get you booked in. If you need other help in the garden please let us know. Enjoy Lynn Dupont

Letters from the garden
Dear Readers, A hot summer!!! we don’t know what to do with ourselves, just not used to not having rain, hopefully we will get some soon as the ground is need of it. (i’m sorry). The country is brown and dusty, the lawns don’t need cutting but the weeds still need pulling and there is pruning and obviously general tidy up’s, pressure washing and watering of pots if needed. There’s always something like staking of plants, sorting compost areas making sure the birds have water. So the Garden Services and the Horty are hanging in there in the heat, just having to be careful. On the designs front we have done ponds, ponds and ponds which is Christian’s expertise so we have had some lovely projects from a large York stone rockery, pond, stream and Marsh garden to a pond renovation in a beautiful setting, to turning a whole garden into a pond and the Client has Dressed toy building platforms, bridges and outside Den/office which looks amazing and he has invited the team back for Drinks so everyone can enjoy the setting (they are all fisherman so a mutual love going on here!) We have just done a large patio and steps to estate renovation and Christian has designed the most amazing galvanised gate for their driveway and built by the local blacksmith, once finished and installed we will make sure there are photos on the website and Facebook. As Mr D pointed out last time there are those that might take advantage of our name, we have heading up the teams Lynn and Christian, then we have Chris W and Jack on the Garden Services and then we have Joe and Cameron heading up the Horty and Connor is on Projects and Designs with Mr D and my brother Mr H who helps us on the Projects when he is available as his knowledge and experience is second to none, especially when joined by Christian. If you need help with anything in the garden room, please call and we can help. Lynn Dupont Mow ‘n’ Blow Garden Services Ltd MNB Horticulture Ltd |
