Letters from the garden
Sunny days, cool evenings and it’s set to continue, spring has definitely sprung forward! and we are loving it, seeing all the trees budding up and the Cherry blossoms which always lift the heart. The daffodils have done extremely well this year, everywhere we have visited has been picture perfect and reminds you why we are a nation of gardeners.
We have started on lawns and continue to help with these and the damage the heat and lack of water caused last year, we are also just seeding and finishing off some of our projects from the beginning of 2019, it’s warmer but it does mean the seed must be watered.
I have eventually done some of my own seeding, and started gardening with zeal, especially as it is lighter every day. I am enjoying using the battery powered mower on the lawns it’s much quicker and less mess, which always makes me happy.
The gardens we are looking after are all starting to spring into life, and the work we have done over winter has certainly helped with keeping the weeds at bay and dividing and moving plants means the borders are looking good.
We are just rebuilding some sleeper beds and walls for a client along with another pond ready for a few plants and some espalier fruit trees.
Next is a big Garden Design, then some bed and border work and projects which continue as usual on the gardening side, making sure they are kept in good shape for the coming season.
Having been plant shopping for clients, it’s a good idea to be aware of the smaller ones may need some protection if we have frosty nights, generally they will have been cold grown if they are perennials but not necessarily uncovered.
If you need any projects achieved or maybe some gardening help, please give us a call.
