Letters from the garden

Dear Readers,

Well we are already into 2015 and although we have had a couple of weather preventive days for working, the show must go on. We are also preparing for talks and workshops for the coming season and we, like a lot of others like to share and receive knowledge, and although there is in no right or wrong way sometimes we try and out-do ourselves, us plants people are a funny lot but the world would not be the same without us. I say this everyday, I have to it keep’s me sane!

At Mow’n’Blow we are planting a lot of roses again and maintaining the areas that get bombarded through out the summer months when you just don’t have time to get there, but we will persevere, have all the fruit trees been pruned and all the shrubs ready for spring, replacing sleepers and edging to lawns, cleaning gutters and roofs and re-building of ponds or even new ponds or water features, this seems to be something that has gone out of fashion but done well can bring so much to the garden, the sound of water is such a tranquil and gentle feeling within that it would make sense for all of us to have it in our lives, maybe that should be the mission of the year to help as many people as possible bring that tranquillity back and maybe the ducks too.

The Hellebores are out now, don’t forget to cut the leaves back to get the most from the flowers it makes so much difference. Who’s seen the first bulb then? Snowdrop anyone?

Dear Readers,

Happy New Year to you all, I hope you have enjoyed the festivities with the garden coming into to your home, it does keep that link to us all that spend a lot of our time in our gardens.

Mow’n’Blow Garden Services are still working through the winter as there are lots of jobs to do, planting whips for those gaps you can now see, adding of new plants that were on your Christmas list for yourself (I know, I do it). Compost areas that need re-vamping or muck for rose and shrub beds, fences need mending, gutters clearing and all pruning that is still needed, as we were mild into the festivities. I am sure there are lots of jobs that Mow’n’Blow can help with, one off visits for clearance or a general tidy-up at this time of year is a good time for these jobs. If you need anything done please do not hesitate to contact us.

Hoping 2015 is a great year for all.
